Payments

We can offer a number of methods for payment of your fees.

Our fixed fees have their own payment terms, which are detailed on the relevant pages.

Typically we work in the same way as most solicitors’ firms, where you will be asked to pay an amount in advance of work being carried out for you. We hold this in a client account (the money remains yours, is held in a separate account and is protected by the Solicitors’ Accounts Rules and our own indemnity insurance). This money is then used to pay your legal fees once invoiced and also for any fees that we may have to pay on your behalf – called disbursements – such as court fees.

The easiest way to pay invoices and place money onto client account is through our “click to pay” invoices in partnership with rapidpay – see below. Alternatively you can transfer directly into our client account or by credit or debit card over the phone or in person. We can also accept cheques (payable to E J Coombs Solicitors), however they will be subject to the usual cheque clearing times.

We can also discuss with you other options for payment of fees and sources for you to raise funds and / or finance if this is required.
