Over the past few months, our team has come together, to raise awareness and as much money as possible, for those in need. What an achievement to now announce that we have managed to accumulate almost £1000 in donations!
It has been well-documented that the charity sector has been severely impacted due to the pandemic, with many charities struggling from the drop in vital donations they need to continue their amazing work. As such, we have been keen to help and are so pleased with the total amount raised.
Macmillan Coffee Morning
As part the preparations for our Macmillan Coffee Morning, we held numerous competitions on our Social Media platforms. We posted a ‘name the bear’ competition and, with close to 900 suggestions, we selected Earl Jacob Crumble for our new office mascot.
We also asked our followers to guess how many coffee beans were in a coffee jar (3,006!!) and to nominate who they would like to share a Marks & Spencer’s afternoon tea hamper with.
On the day of the Coffee Morning, Emma Blakesley hosted a virtual quiz for the EJC team. There were four separate rounds: mental, physical, mystery and skill. The ‘Queen of the Quiz’ was Sara Barnes.
We all lifted our funkiest mugs to cheers Macmillan for the wonderful work that they do.
Sara and our secretary, Fran Gomez, were named as our ‘Star Bakers’, providing those of us in the office with some delicious citrus flavoured cakes!

Wear it Pink Day
We were keen to support Breast Cancer Now’s ‘Wear it Pink’ day to raise awareness during Breast Cancer Awareness month.
It is estimated that 600,000 people are living with or after a breast cancer diagnosis in the UK. The charity’s aim is to ensure that anyone who develops breast cancer by 2050 will live.
So, our team, offices and even our logo wore it pink!

Aching Arms UK
We are encouraging our colleagues, clients and communities to ‘Support Local’ during these uncertain times. Before the current restrictions were imposed, our office mascot enjoyed a teddy bear’s picnic at Tea on the Green, a tearoom local to our Head Office in Danbury.
Rose the bear is from Aching Arms UK – a charity supporting bereaved parents through the devastating experience of pregnancy and baby loss.
Each bear is donated in memory of a baby lost too soon.
The charity works with 140 hospitals, hospices, support groups and funeral directors. They advocate for the emotional health needs of bereaved parents.

The British Legion Appeal
A local sewing group named the ‘Danbury Sewing Bees’ have been knitting and crocheting homemade poppies for the British Legion Appeal. Our team placed an order, and we will be wearing our poppies with pride throughout November, in memory of those who have lost their lives during active service in all conflicts.
The money raised will help to fund today’s Armed Forces community
Our offices have also been donating the funds charged for swears and certifications over the last few months to the three following charities:
The Ryan MS Therapy Centre
Farleigh Hospice
Kids Inspire
We take this opportunity to thank everyone who has participated in our bid to raise awareness for the above charities and to all of those who have kindly donated to these great causes.
