E J Coombs Solicitors were proud to recently sponsor an event raising funds for Hospices of Hope. This is a charity that raises money to set up hospices overseas, where there previously were no such facilities for those suffering with serious illnesses. This has become a charity very close to our hearts due to the important work they do for both adults and children. The charity is reliant upon fundraising events to enable them to help care for adults and children overseas.
We were keen to help and had the privilege of co-funding a wine tasting event. It was held in the beautiful village of Otford, which clearly has a very tightknit and supportive community spirit. The charity has a tearoom on the high street where you can visit to enjoy delicious cake and other snacks. You can also purchase gifts all to support this worthy charity.
The event was a great success raising over £1,700. This will help towards the charity’s causes immensely and is enough to fund a doctor’s salary for a month. The evening was well attended and a truly heart-warming experience. We also had the opportunity to learn a little more about wine over the course of the evening. The wine tasting was led by Alteus Wines. They are an independent wine merchants based in Crowborough. Their knowledge of local wines was phenomenal and passion for the subject was inspiring. They ensured that all attendees had a wonderful evening.
We were also pleased to meet Alison Wright of Wealth Management Specialists who also helped fund the incredible event.
We are keen to work closely with our local community. We continue to support charitable events and other brilliant causes.
